Investor Unlocks Billion-Dollar Mindset
I worked with a real estate investor on developing a mindset that would empower him to become "unstoppable." Over the course of six months, we collaborated almost daily to cultivate a Warrior mindset, one in which he believed in himself and in achieving the impossible. He credits me with helping him unlock this mindset, which enabled him to grow his company to a valuation of $1 billion within four years.
ADHD Clients Find Abundant Opportunities
Yes. There are many. I work with ADHD/neurodivergent clients as an ADHD career coach to develop a vibrant career.
My experience is that once clients go through the 8 week Your Next Career Move process, the breakthrough comes with a realization that they have sought a sustainable direction from an archaic lens, one that does not honor who they are and what they need in their work. Once that barrier is dissolved, opportunities become abundant.
For example, I had one skeptical client find a position in a field that he was excited about that paid 40% more in salary and benefits. Another client had 4 offers in departments within her university that matched all of her "must-haves." Others have found their skills and interests matched far more opportunities than they ever imagined. Several clients have identified training and educational opportunities that are not "shiny object" courses, but rather are direct routes to paid positions and/or self-employment.
The neurodivergent brain wiring is "interest-based." Therefore, one must do a deeper dive into all the aspects of one's career or work that directly links to those interests. It's a nonlinear path that is often nuanced, yet powerful when one is freed to discover all that excites and energizes them. At that point, the sky is the limit.
In my role, I also must feel about my work the way I expect my clients to feel about theirs. I have loved working in my field and with my neurodivergent tribe for 35 years. It's work I plan to do for as long as I can, with all the expansive twists and turns.
VP Transforms to CMO, Thrives
One of my favorite success stories involves a client, BH, who was an associate vice president at a major insurance company, struggling to build relationships within her organization—a challenge that was holding her back. Together, we worked on strengthening her networking and relationship-building skills, which was a real growth area for her and required significant effort. The transformation was remarkable.
She ultimately pivoted to a Chief Marketing Officer role in a company aligned with her personal passion for interior decorating, securing a highly competitive compensation package. Fast forward almost five years—she's thriving. Not only did she excel in that role, but she also landed her dream job at a major retailer without needing to relocate. She's fulfilled, leading a team she loves, and leveraging the skills we built to continue succeeding. Watching her win—and keep winning—is why I do what I do.
Fintech Startup Secures Major Funding
One story that really stands out from my time at spectup involves a fintech startup that came to us struggling to gain investor attention, despite having solid technology. Coming from my background at N26, I immediately recognized they had the same challenge I'd seen countless times - they were too focused on technical features rather than communicating their actual value to investors.
Drawing from my experience at Deloitte's Innovation & Ventures team, we worked intensively with their leadership team to reshape their entire pitch narrative. Instead of leading with technical specifications, we helped them tell a compelling story about how they were solving a critical problem in the banking sector - something I learned the importance of during my time at BMW Startup Garage.
The breakthrough came when we helped them understand that investors needed to see not just what they were building, but why it mattered. Using insights from my days at diffferent, we rebuilt their pitch deck to focus on market impact and growth potential. The results were immediate - within two months, they secured meetings with three major VC firms and closed their funding round at a valuation much higher than they initially expected.
What made this particularly satisfying was seeing how this success changed their entire approach to communication - they started applying these storytelling principles across their business, from customer presentations to team meetings, creating a ripple effect that transformed their company culture.
Executive Overcomes Blushing, Earns Promotion
I was working with a young female executive who had been identified as a top performer and had a lot of potential to rise in the ranks of the company.
However, there was one thing holding her back and interfering with her ability to perform. She had a blushing problem! It was especially pronounced when giving presentations. She would start to blush, get flustered, and things would spiral downhill from there. Because of that, she had avoided promotions that would put her in front of important people.
When we explored what exactly bothered her about blushing in front of her colleagues, we identified that it was the idea of people noticing that she was blushing, and wondering if she was nervous. I asked her what would happen if she, at the outset, welcomed people to her presentation and just said, "Hey, I'm really excited to be presenting today, and I just want to let you know the excitement sometimes shows up as blushing for me, but don't worry, everything is fine!"
She thought that trying that would make her feel much more relaxed. So she tried it at her next meeting, and it worked!
No one was shocked by what she said; in fact, it seemed to personalize the session and engage the participants. She wasn't nervous at all. She did blush for a little while, but it went away quickly.
She did this a few more times, and the blushing soon went away for good. She accepted a wonderful promotion with more responsibility and visibility, and it was only uphill from there!
There is a lesson here for any professional in terms of accepting your "flaws," communicating from the heart, and being bold enough to be authentic.
Manufacturing Business Sees Revenue Increase
One of the standout success stories from my coaching career involves a small manufacturing business owner in Melbourne. When we started working together, the client was struggling with stagnant revenue, high staff turnover, and inefficient production processes. The business was barely breaking even, and the owner felt trapped in a cycle of putting out fires without a clear path forward. Drawing from my experience in building and scaling companies, I conducted a deep dive into their operations, uncovering critical inefficiencies in workflow and team management. Leveraging my MBA in finance, we restructured their financial processes, optimized cash flow, and implemented a streamlined system for budgeting and forecasting. We also focused heavily on recruitment and retention strategies, ensuring they hired the right people and created a workplace culture that inspired loyalty.
Within 18 months, the business saw an increase in revenue and a reduction in production time, which translated to higher profit margins. The team turnover rate dropped significantly as employees felt more valued and aligned with the company's goals. What made this transformation possible was not just applying textbook strategies but tailoring solutions to the owner's unique challenges. My decades of experience allowed me to pinpoint what truly mattered and execute actionable changes. The owner has since expanded to a second facility and credited this success to having a clear vision and the right systems in place, something we built together through coaching. This breakthrough was a testament to the fact that with the right guidance, any business can overcome its struggles and achieve extraordinary results.
Client Emerges as Strong Leader
One of the most rewarding success stories from my coaching experience revolves around a client who was struggling with positioning themselves as a leader within their organization. When we first started working together, they were highly skilled in their technical role but had difficulty communicating their vision and establishing themselves as a strong leader. Their main challenge was stepping out of their comfort zone and embracing a more assertive leadership style.
We began by identifying the core issues—lack of confidence in presenting their ideas and hesitance to take charge in high-stakes situations. Through a combination of targeted exercises and consistent feedback, I guided them in refining their communication style, focusing on clarity and authority without sacrificing authenticity. I also encouraged them to take on leadership roles in smaller projects, giving them a safe space to practice and build confidence.
The breakthrough came when they were tasked with leading a crucial project that required not just technical expertise but also the ability to guide a team and make strategic decisions. Armed with a refined approach to leadership and communication, they took charge and managed the team with a level of confidence and decisiveness they hadn't shown before. The project was a success, and they gained the recognition they deserved within their organization. More importantly, they received a significant promotion shortly after, which was a direct result of the leadership transformation.
This experience reinforced the power of coaching in helping clients recognize their potential and build the necessary skills to unlock that potential. It wasn't about changing who they were, but about helping them find the confidence to lead with authority and authenticity. Seeing this client grow and achieve their professional goals was incredibly fulfilling and showed me how impactful the right coaching can be in driving real career breakthroughs.
Career Stagnation Overcome with Strategic Action
A client struggling with career stagnation sought my guidance. Together, we identified her core strengths, refined her résumé, and practiced targeted interview strategies. By focusing on networking, she landed a meeting with a hiring manager at her dream company. I coached her on articulating her unique value and addressing gaps confidently. She not only secured the role but exceeded expectations within six months, earning a promotion. The key was shifting her mindset from self-doubt to strategic action, helping her align her skills with her goals. Her breakthrough demonstrated how clarity, preparation, and confidence could transform a professional trajectory.
CEO Realizes Domain's Long-Term Value
A particularly successful coaching story I experienced involved helping a client understand the immense value of owning a domain name and how it could elevate their business to the next level. This client, the CEO of a company, was interested in purchasing the domain for their exact brand name. However, the price was about 25% higher than they initially wanted to pay, and the CEO couldn't fathom paying the seller's asking price.
To shift his perspective, I asked the CEO to consider a different angle: "If you owned the domain and someone wanted to buy it from you, what price would you want?" When the CEO reflected on it, he realized that he would value the domain at approximately ten times more than the seller's asking price. This new understanding helped him see the 25% extra cost as negligible when weighed against the long-term value the domain would bring to the business. Ultimately, the company went on to purchase the domain-redmond.com-for a price in the six-figure range, marking a major breakthrough in their digital presence and branding. This experience underscores how a shift in perspective can unlock tremendous value for clients.
Home Sells Above Asking Price
One of the most rewarding experiences I've had was coaching a client who was struggling to sell their home after months on the market with little interest. They felt stuck and disheartened, as the property wasn't attracting the right buyers despite being in a desirable location. During our consultation, I identified several areas where we could make impactful changes. We started with professional staging to highlight the home's potential and added virtual tours to reach a wider audience online. I also advised on strategic pricing adjustments based on local market data, ensuring the property was positioned competitively. Within weeks of implementing these changes, the home garnered significantly more interest, including multiple offers. The property eventually sold for 8% above the original asking price. The client was thrilled, and they told me that the guidance and encouragement I provided not only helped them achieve their goal but also boosted their confidence in making informed decisions. This success reinforced my belief in the power of tailored strategies and clear communication. When clients feel supported and understand the steps they're taking, it creates momentum toward their goals and often leads to remarkable outcomes.
Leadership Confidence Leads to Promotion
A client struggling with leadership confidence came to me after being overlooked for a promotion. We identified that their hesitation to voice ideas in meetings was holding them back. Through role-playing and focused exercises, we worked on clear communication and strategies to assert their contributions. In a few months, they presented a key project idea that gained executive approval, leading to a promotion shortly after. The breakthrough came from helping them see their own value and equipping them with tools to showcase it effectively.
Technical Expert Becomes Senior Leader
One success story that stands out is with a client who was struggling with transitioning into a leadership role. They had strong technical skills but lacked the confidence to manage a team effectively. Through our coaching sessions, we focused on developing their leadership mindset, communication skills, and decision-making abilities.
I encouraged them to set small, achievable goals and offered continuous support and feedback. Over time, they became more confident in leading their team and handling difficult situations. As a result, they not only gained recognition within their company but were promoted to a senior leadership position, which was a huge breakthrough in their career.
It was rewarding to see how the small shifts in mindset and approach had such a big impact on their professional growth.
Real Estate Newbie Achieves Financial Security
As a 7-figure real estate coach, I use my expertise to help newbies who want to start investing and build financial security. And it works: One of my clients, Kali, went from being unsure of herself to buying and renting out a property with $4,200 in monthly cash flow. Because I used to be a complete beginner myself, I'm able to guide my clients and give them a tested roadmap to success.
